Jason Preston

Director, Co-Founder

Jason Preston co-founded Prekaro Projects and has been instrumental in shaping its strategic direction, culture, and growth as the Director. With over 25 years in the industry, he provides governance oversight, manages key client relationships, and ensures the company’s long-term reputation as a trusted mid-tier builder. Jason focuses on setting vision and direction while empowering the leadership team to drive delivery.

Jason’s leadership style blends strategic foresight with a collaborative mindset. He is known for cultivating strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, and for bringing a solutions-focused attitude to every challenge. His ability to drive program, cost, and quality outcomes—without compromising culture or client care—sets him apart in the industry.

At the heart of Jason’s approach is a passion for continuous improvement. He champions innovation, embraces technology, and is committed to evolving construction practices that keep Prekaro ahead of the curve.

Adam Robson

Director, Co-Founder

As Co-Founder of Prekaro Projects, Adam Robson has played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s strong reputation for quality since 2013. With more than two decades of experience across commercial, industrial, and government projects, he upholds client and stakeholder relationships, and provides technical insight to guide the leadership team.

Adam brings a trade background, deep technical knowledge, and an unwavering focus on execution. His ability to navigate the full lifecycle of a project—from early design, authorities and approvals through to handover—has made him a trusted partner to clients and a mentor to staff.

Sustainability, innovation, and a personal approach to every build remain at the heart of his leadership. Whether working with government stakeholders, private developers or community clients, Adam ensures every Prekaro project stands as a testament to quality, care, and purpose.

Kai Schimkat

General Manager

With over 35 years in the construction industry, Kai Schimkat is a seasoned professional known for his depth of experience and strategic leadership across large-scale and complex projects nationwide. His career spans all facets of construction, from hands-on delivery to high-level business operations – making him an invaluable part of the Prekaro Projects leadership team.

As General Manager, Kai plays a central role in steering both business development and construction activities. His ability to foster strong relationships with clients, teams, and key stakeholders has been instrumental to Prekaro’s continued growth and reputation for excellence.

Kai’s commercial insight, paired with his technical expertise and project delivery background, enables him to lead with clarity and confidence. He ensures projects are executed efficiently and to the highest standard, while maintaining a strong focus on team culture and client satisfaction.

Shannon Ackerman

Construction Director

Shannon Ackerman brings over 30 years of construction experience to his role as Construction Director, where he oversees Prekaro Projects delivery teams and ensures that every project is executed with precision, safety, and efficiency. Starting his career as a carpenter, Shannon has built an impressive track record across residential, commercial, industrial, and government sectors.

Shannon’s career highlights include receiving the prestigious Queensland State Master Builders Award in 2017, recognising his commitment to quality and his significant contributions to the industry. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle – from early site planning and stakeholder engagement through to delivery and handover – making him an indispensable leader on complex builds.

Known for his collaborative leadership style, Shannon fosters strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. His ability to navigate challenges and maintain program, budget, and quality targets has made him one of the most trusted figures within Prekaro Projects and beyond.

At the core of Shannon’s approach is a commitment to craftsmanship and people. He is deeply invested in mentoring site teams, building capability, and ensuring that Prekaro Project’s culture of integrity, safety, and excellence is upheld on every project. Rob Walsh

Pre-Construction Manager

With 9 years of invaluable industry experience under his belt, Rob brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project he undertakes.

Equipped with a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) degree, Rob a solid educational foundation that ensures precision and efficiency in his work. His academic background, coupled with years of hands-on experience, makes him a formidable force in the construction industry.

Having previously specialised in healthcare and commercial projects, he has now honed his skills in Industrial and commercial, navigating the complexities of these demanding sectors. His keen understanding of the unique challenges and requirements in construction enables him to deliver results that exceed client expectations.

Jacob Hoffmann

Commercial Coordinator

Jacob Hoffmann oversees commercial coordination at Prekaro Projects, ensuring that every project is commercially sound and strategically aligned. With a strong background in contract administration and project controls, Jacob plays a central role in managing risk, negotiating agreements, and monitoring performance across the business.

His expertise lies in balancing contractual obligations with operational delivery, providing the leadership team with clear data and insights to drive efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction. By combining technical contract knowledge with business analytics, Jacob ensures Prekaro’s projects are not only delivered to a high standard but also meet financial and strategic objectives.

Meghan Hamilton

Operations Manager

Meghan Hamilton is our Operations Manager who is responsible for driving quality assurance, system integration, and operational efficiency across the business. She ensures every project not only meets regulatory standards, company policies, and client expectations, but also reflects Prekaro’s commitment to reliability and excellence.

With a strong focus on continuous improvement, Meghan leads the development and implementation of streamlined project management and site safety systems, compliance frameworks, and innovative solutions that enhance productivity and reduce risk. Her leadership extends beyond processes, she is passionate about building collaborative teams, fostering a culture of accountability, and aligning day-to-day operations with long-term business goals.

Drawing on extensive experience in construction operations and systems management, Meghan has successfully guided teams through periods of growth, change, and increasing project complexity. Her ability to combine strategic oversight with hands-on problem solving makes her an integral part of Prekaro’s leadership team, ensuring the business remains efficient, resilient, and positioned for sustainable success.

Christopher Allmond

Head of Finance

Chris has over 15 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, corporate finance and financial management. Chris gained his initial financial and commercial experience with PwC and prior to joining Prekaro Projects, he held senior finance roles with Kestrel Coal Resources, a privately owned metallurgical coal mine and Perform Group (Now DAZN), a sports media and streaming group.

Chris is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) degree and is a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand.

Cam McRae

Construction Manager

With an impressive 23 years of experience in the construction industry, Cam stands as a seasoned veteran with a wealth of knowledge and expertise on a diverse range of experience, spanning everything from hands-on trade knowledge to managing high-rise projects, gas installations, civil housing, and commercial/industrial construction. His versatility allow him to navigate the complexities of construction projects with ease, from concept to completion and everything in between.

Cam brings not only decades of experience but also a passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering results that exceed expectations. His hands-on approach, coupled with his ability to inspire and motivate teams, ensures that every project undertaken by Prekaro Projects is executed with precision, efficiency, and quality craftsmanship.

Adam Caughlan

Construction Manager

With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Adam brings a wealth of hands-on knowledge and leadership, built on a solid background as a carpenter, site manager, and project manager. His career has been defined by the successful delivery of high-quality projects from conception to completion, driven by a deep commitment to strong client and subcontractor relationships and a people-first approach both on and off-site.

Adam is known for his versatility and in-depth understanding of all facets of the building industry, including substantial knowledge in construction detailing. He has consistently delivered complex and challenging projects with precision, ensuring quality outcomes through meticulous attention to detail, clear communication, and extensive industry knowledge.

Highly skilled in cost control, budgeting, planning, and delivery, Adam brings a strategic mindset and a practical, hands-on approach that ensures projects are completed efficiently, on time, and to the highest standard. He has a true passion for the trade—and for the people who make it possible.
